PBS Oil Industries presents OryzaFat®

The golden energy for high-yield herds.

OryzaFat® carries concentrated energy past the rumen to where she can use it. Made from rice bran oil fatty acids, protected as a calcium soap.

The problem

A high-yielding cow can't simply eat her way out of an energy gap. Her appetite has a ceiling. Her milk does not.

0Gross energy per unit weight of fat, against carbohydrate (general nutrition principle).

01
Why bypass fat

Energy that does not fight the rumen.

Grain adds starch that can push rumen pH down. Plain oil can interfere with fibre digestion. Bypass fat is the third way: protected in the rumen, released further down the tract.

02
Technology

From rice bran to the small intestine.

A calcium soap that stays intact at rumen pH and lets go in the acid abomasum, where the energy can be absorbed.

01Source

Paddy is milled

Rice processing begins an agricultural chain that ends in the dairy.

02By-product

Rice bran

The milling by-product. Rich in oil, and too valuable to waste.

03Refining

Oil to fatty acids

Refining rice bran oil yields a stream of rice bran oil fatty acids.

04Calcium soap

Protected as OryzaFat®

Fatty acids are bound with calcium into a protected bypass fat.

05Result

Energy for the herd

Concentrated energy that passes the rumen, supporting high-yield animals.

03
Why rice bran oil fatty acids

A different raw material.

Most bypass fats start from palm, dominated by palmitic acid. OryzaFat starts from rice bran oil, an Indian rice by-product whose fatty acids are mostly unsaturated.

Sustainability

From the paddy to the pail.

A refining by-product becomes high-value animal nutrition: an agricultural circular economy built on rice.

FAQ

Straight answers.

A fat supplement protected so that it passes through the rumen without being broken down by microbes. It is then digested and absorbed in the small intestine, where it supplies energy.

The calcium salt of fatty acids. Largely insoluble at rumen pH, it dissociates in the acidic abomasum, which is what makes it a rumen-protected fat.

It depends on yield, stage of lactation, body condition and the rest of the ration. Please consult our technical team or your animal nutritionist.
